ACL Surgery Scar

You will have a scar following an ACL reconstruction.
Most often, these heal without any problems. However, it is possible that you will develop abnormal scars, especially if you have a history of keloids (excessively thick scars). You should have a consultation with a dermatologist and a discussion with your physician if you are concerned about these. The appearance of the scar, however, does not predict your results of the operation. Even patients with enlarged scars can have excellent surgical results.
