You will have a scar following this procedure. Most often these heal without any problems and may be barely noticeable within a year after the procedure. However, it is possible that you will develop an abnormal scar, especially if you have a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring. Sometimes a scar can lead to callus or corn formation and thus higher levels of discomfort. Consultation with a dermatologist or discussion with your physician about your specific case is required if you are concerned with these issues.

The appearance of the scars however, does not predict the results of your operation. Even enlarged scars can occur in patients who have excellent surgical results and are in good health.
