Major complications include but are not limited to:

· Delayed or no healing of the bone

· Serious infections

· Persistent swelling

· Major nerve injury

· Bone Fracture

· Breakdown of the wound

· Poor toe position

· Continued Pain

· Arthritis of the MTP joint

· Nerve injury

· Problems with anesthesia

· Reaction to medication

· Loss of life

· Other rare and improbable events.
