An abnormal toe position occurs in 5 to 7 out of 100 patients after this procedure. Several factors will determine the treatment options available. If the position is mildly abnormal, no treatment is needed. But, if the joint continues to cause you pain or the angle is too severe, a repeat surgical procedure may be necessary to reposition the toe.
