As stated before, the graft chosen for your procedure comes from a cadaver. The graft most often contains bone and tendon. Because the graft is actively screened against various diseases, including HIV and hepatitis, allografts are generally safe. There is however, an extremely rare chance that you may contract an illness secondary to the allograft.
